Events at SUNY Old Westbury

Dear Alumni and Friends,
It’s that time of year again whether you like to play man to man, zone, or employ an intense full court press. October 15th is here and for every former college basketball player and fan, it is a very special time of year. For many of us our worlds used to come to a complete halt. All we could think about was the wonderful sound of the ball bouncing on the hardwood. The first day of basketball practice always creates a wave of excitement that is hard to duplicate. I hope this letter finds you in good spirits and brings back some fond memories.
For those alumni that have a few bounces left, I would like to inform you of several events that we will be hosting during the month of November. The first is our Tip off Party for Men’s and Women’s Basketball which will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at 7:00 pm at the Campus Center here at Old Westbury. We will have a surprise celebrity guest speaker that you will not want to miss. Hopefully this event will spring board our team to one of our best seasons ever. Tickets for the Fund Raising event are $25.00 and can be purchased on the night of the event or in advance by calling (516) 876-3241.
On Saturday, November 14, 2009, we will host our Annual Alumni Game. The women’s game will tip off at 12:00 noon and the men’s contest will follow at 1:30 p.m. Both the women’s and men’s teams are excited about the up and coming season and we would really appreciate your support of both these exciting events.
