Jews in Soccer

The "other" football is the most popular sport in the world and Jewish players, coaches and executives have made their mark in this sport.
Join us as we explore the role of "Jews in Soccer" with:
Gloria Averbuch - The author of twelve books, two of which are soccer books, "The Vision of a Champion" and "It's Not About the Bra."
Shep Messing - Played seven seasons in the NASL and six in the Major Indoor Soccer League; member of the U.S. Soccer Team at the '72 Olympics; two time second-team All-American at Harvard.
Jack Bell - Writes the weekly soccer column for The New York Times. He has played, coached and written about soccer for more than 40 years and has written for soccer publications, including FIFA Magazine, Striker and Futbol Mundial.
Andrei Markovits - Professor at the University of Michigan who has widely written on global soccer.
Ethan Zohn - Pro soccer player who co-founded Grassroots Soccer which raises money to fight HIV/AIDS
Roby Young - Played professionally for the New York Cosmos and played and captained the Israeli National and Olympic teams.
David Hirshey, Moderator - Book editor and sportswriter. He has been an editor at "The New Yorker" and "Esquire" and is currently Senior Vice-President and Executive Editor at Harper Collins. Mr. Hirshey has written extensively about soccer in "ESPN the Magazine" and "The New York Times."
Panelists are subject to change.
